Location: Nestled amidst the picturesque Tuscan countryside and just under an hour’s drive from Siena, the new boutique resort Borgo 69 invites its guests to enjoy relaxing luxury in Italian style. Located near the picturesque town of Pozzo Della Chiana, the resort is surrounded by over 300 olive trees and is just a half-hour drive from Cortona and less than an hour from Perugia and Siena.
Special features: In June 2020, the Fontelunga Hotel and Villas got “offspring”: Borgo 69 is the name of the new resort with 12 villas and apartments, just 1 km away from the Fontelunga manor house. Here, too, the creative mind and architect of Borgo69, Philip Robinson, lovingly implemented to the smallest detail – a blend of local architecture and luxurious, timeless design with high-quality furnishings skillfully. Exemplifying both tradition and modernity is a straight wall connecting all parts of the complex, built from the bricks of the 300-year-old farmhouse that once stood here.
From local building techniques such as half-timbered ceilings, Tuscan craftsmanship and carpentry to the most modern lighting techniques, media equipment and heating systems, everything that even the most demanding guest could wish for has been thought of.
For the project, it was particularly important to him that the residents of the villas and apartments, enjoy and experience the landscape to the fullest. In the lovely peaceful surroundings and the community of Borgo 69, the guests should feel safe and completely at home.
Emporio di Ines, Restaurant & Shop is a tribute to the passionate cook and mother of co-owner Paolo Kastelec. Here, fresh seasonal ingredients partly from the own garden are served to “Chichetti”, the Italian form of tapas and served in the beautiful shady courtyard garden at lunchtime or as dinner.
Local specialties can be purchased in the accompanying store.
